Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Renwick Two are learning to reduce, reuse and recycle to save the planet! We made up some questions to ask our families. Here are their answers.
What things do you reuse?
Ice cream containers, plastic bags, glass jars, wrapping paper and ribbons, cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, hand down clothes, paper, food scraps and coffee grinds.
How do you reduce rubbish?
We try to buy things that don't have a lot of packaging, reuse things as above, give things away when we are finished with them, put scraps of food on the compost heap or give them to hens etc, we only buy things we need, by not using plastic bags from the supermarket, by eating all our dinner so there is no waste, recycle as much as possible and resell things that are still useable.
Why do you recycle some things?
We recycle things so they don't go into the landfill, to reduce the amount of rubbish we produce, to save our planet earth, to save money and so other people can make use of things we don't want or need any more.
Renwick Two think that their families are doing a good job. What do you think? What else could we do?
